Naomi Simmons has been a full time author of books to teach English to young children for 20 years, and is world's best-selling author in this field. She lives in the United Kingdom, just outside London.
Ms Simmons is the sole author of You and Me and Hello Jojo, a successful three level course for very young children, also published by Macmillan and had written course books for other publishers.
What all her materials have in common is actively engaging children in their learning and promoting a love of English; by appealing to their interests, passions and concerns. They also promote strong values of citizenship, responsibility and care for themselves and others.
Ms Simmons holds a BSc (Econ) Hons from the Univerity of Wales and a Masters degree in publishing. In 2011, she was awarded the Honorary Master of Letters from the University of Hertfordshire in recognition of outstanding contribution to language education. She was presented to Her Majesty the Queen at Buckingham Palace for her contributions worldwide in promoting the English language. She contributes on issues relating to the teaching of English on the BBC World Service and BBC Radio 4.
