IATEFL aims to improve networks amongst ELT institutions, academics, authors and teachers, and currently has over 4,000 members spread over more that 100 countries around the world. The main activities for IATEFL members throughout the year are focused on Special Interest Groups, which host various meetings and conferences, and publish newsletters including the bimonthly magazine, IATEFL Voices.
Macmillan Education at IATEFL
Each year Macmillan Education has a stand in the IATEFL exhibition hall to showcase our products and meet with the people whose opinion we value most, the English Language teachers using and considering our titles. We love speaking to you at these events, hearing your feedback and recommending solutions that can help you and your students in the classroom. Our staff are on hand to answer any questions and point you in the direction of new resources… and of course sell you a ticket to the IATEFL party! But it’s not just our staff who come to IATEFL, we curate a programme of talks and workshops from a selection of our authors and in-house experts so they can share their ELT expertise with delegates from around the world.
The Macmillan Education Party
A long-standing tradition in IATEFL history is the infamous Macmillan Education party. With a different theme every year, you can expect the unexpected but the basic ingredients remain the same: music, drinks, nibbles, meeting new people and catching up with old friends, while raising a lot of money for charity. What could be better? We sell tickets from our stand, and all the proceeds go to the charities we choose annually, but make sure to come and buy yours early as they sell out fast!
