The language and life skills our students need
Mind is the only adult course with a life skills strand that helps students to develop life skills in different aspects of their lives, alongside its solid language syllabus. Students also develop skills to help them in their working lives or for employability, in their academic lives or for learning in general, and in their personal lives and interaction with others.
A full double page section is dedicated to life skills in every unit in each of the six levels of the Mind courses, giving students the chance to actively improve in all these skills, such as negotiation, time management, presenting, identifying bias, and being culturally aware to name but a few.
As well as the life skills section in the Student’s Books, you can help your students develop the same skill in a different aspect of their lives, using the extra material from your Teacher’s Resource Centres. This provides you with a huge bank of life skills resources and lessons per level – and if it’s employability skills your students need – each of the lessons are transferable and feature skills for work and career development.
Why a competition for work experience?
Macmillan Education would like to provide the opportunity for adult students to experience first-hand how their language and life skills can benefit them in a working environment. That’s why we’re offering three lucky winners two weeks’ work experience at our international office in London.
Work experience at Macmillan Education would be a great opportunity for your students to gain practical experience of an English-speaking business environment. As a leading educational publisher, work experience offers students an insight into a variety of roles across publishing: from Editorial to Sales and Marketing functions. Read terms and conditions
