We know our teachers are a passionate and talented bunch, so we anticipated the hundreds of highly-impressive entries we received. What we didn’t anticipate however, was just how difficult it would be to select our winners!
Our judging panel included Macmillan author Steve Taylore-Knowles and Senior Trainers from Norwich Institute of Language Education (NILE), where our prize-winners will attend their training courses.
Of the judging process, Tom Sarney at NILE said: “We found it so difficult to select only 5 winners because of the remarkable levels of creativity and innovation by all teachers on the shortlist. We were especially impressed with entries which showcased highly creative approaches to teaching with very few resources and we got a real sense of excitement to see what was going on in classrooms around the world. Really inspirational.”
After careful consideration, we are thrilled to announce that the five winners of the Macmillan Education Teachers at the Heart Scholarship are:
Not only did these five talented teachers present outstanding examples and evidence of success, they also embody the spirit of our Teachers at the Heart message.
Teachers like these are the reason we do what we do. Why we publish what we publish. Why we run competitions like this one… they teach from and with their hearts.
We’ll be sharing details of our winners’ stories and projects in the months to come.
Until then, please join us in congratulating them on their success!
