Laura Broadbent is an ELT specialist with over 20 years’ experiences in teaching, training and developing materials. She specialises in digital resources and special educational needs, and works with global publishers and schools. She is the co-founder of digital educational agency, OtterEducation, and also works as a dyslexia tutor and speech and language therapist assistant. She brings all this knowledge and experience together to help educators provide the best learning experience for today’s students.

Louise Wilks is Global Market Research Manager at Macmillan Education, where she drives a customer-centric approach to product development. With 15+ years’ research experience across publishing, education, and tourism, and a PhD in Communication Studies, she leads research that ensures teachers’ needs drive meaningful innovation.

Susanna Goldschmidt is Director of Digital Product at Macmillan Education with 20 years’ experience in edtech across the UK, Spain, and Germany. A linguist fluent in five languages, she champions technology in language learning, user-centric design, and loves engaging with teachers to shape platforms that truly support education.

Teacher Rodrigo Honorato is a bilingual English teacher, trainer, and TEDx speaker with 20+ years’ experience in education and cultural exchange. He has worked in Brazil, the United States, and Hong Kong, specialising in AAVE, pronunciation, teacher training, and online content, empowering learners worldwide through his project English Black Friday and other innovative educational initiatives. Eduardo de Freitas is a teacher, teacher educator, and materials writer based in Santos. He holds certifications such as the Cambridge C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency, TKT, CELTA, ICELT, and Train the Trainer, and is currently preparing for the DELTA. His main areas of interest are design, teacher development, and materials writing, and how these areas combined can enhance the student learning experience. Eduardo is also the brains behind Orbita, a content marketing and graphic design agency specialized in the ELT market.

Super Huang is a passionate educational professional with over a decade of experience in the ELT teaching and training field across various contexts in Asia. Her expertise spans both classroom and online environments, allowing her to adapt to diverse educational settings. Currently, she focuses on designing and delivering customized training solutions for schools at all academic levels throughout Asia. Super is a dedicated educator with deep knowledge of the unique needs and challenges faced by Asian students and teachers.

Nathan Waller is the Marketing and Academic Services Manager for Macmillan Education in the MENA region. With a Bachelors (Ba) and Masters (Ma) in Childhood and Anthropology, he has almost 20 years of experience in education, starting in pre-primary and primary education in the UK before specialising in Special Educational Needs (SEN). He has lived and worked in multiple countries across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, with experience in teaching, teacher training, assessment and educational development.

Derek ‘Del’ Spafford (MA TESOL; Dip.TESOL) is an ELT specialist with nearly 30 years’ experience as an educator, manager, and professional development leader. He has spent eight years with Macmillan Education Asia and previously led major training initiatives for the British Council Thailand. He is dedicated to improving teaching across Asia.

Flora Jhuang is the Business Development Manager at Macmillan Education Greater China, specializing in ELT academic solutions and product promotion strategies. With a TESOL certification and over 10 years of experience in ELT, encompassing both online education and educational publishing, Flora is passionate about teaching and learning. Her dedication drives her to support teachers and students achieving new heights in their educational journeys.

Evan Frendo is a freelance trainer based in Berlin, Germany. He has been active in corporate language training since 1993, and specializes in ESP and business English. Armanda Stroia holds a Ph.D. in Philology and has over 15 years of teaching experience. She actively contributes to the field through classroom research, teacher training, and materials development. Her research spans critical media literacy, multimodality, and atomic language habits. She also serves on the IATEFL MaWSIG committee.

With two decades dedicated to language instruction and examination, Mike Rowley brings extensive expertise to the field. He is an author for Macmillan Education Mexico, Brazil and Global as well as an educational consultant. His skills as a communications expert are utilized by a diverse range of institutions in both the educational and corporate sectors.

Arturo Alberto Hernández Medina has over 30 years of experience in language teaching. He is currently the national academic director for language centers at Tecnológico de Monterrey. He lives in Guadalajara, Jalisco, México and his professional interests include the use of technology in the classroom, innovation, leadership, feedback and evaluation.

Nour Barazi is an ELT leader and CELTA Trainer, with over 10 years of school improvement and learner outcome enhancement experience. She leads the English Language Centre at Jeddah International College and contributes to the Employee Development Unit by supporting institutions across MENA in teacher training, programme design, and student attraction and retention strategies.

Matthew Long is the Head of English at an international school in Mexico City. A lifelong learner, he researches Mind Brain Education and applies its findings in curriculum and classrooms. He also collaborates with Macmillan Education and the British Council to deliver professional development on future-ready teaching skills and practices.

Michelle Worgan is an educator and author based in Spain, writing for Macmillan and other international publishers. She also designs resources for, and runs a teacher development programme in inquiry-based learning for ELT. Michelle is currently joint events coordinator for the IATEFL Young Learners & Teenagers SIG.

Jo Szoke’s a freelance teacher trainer, educational consultant, AI in Education specialist, and EFL teacher. She trains pre-service and in-service teachers at universities, language schools, and on Erasmus training programmes. She has also been working closely with international ELT publishers for years. Her co-written book on AI literacy development has just been published by DELTA Publishing.

Mark Arthur holds the CertTESOL and DipTESOL from Trinity College London. Working in ELT since 2000 in Mexico and the UK as a teacher, teacher trainer, examiner, and materials writer, Mark is currently a senior academic consultant for Macmillan Education and a frequent speaker at national and regional conferences.

Myriam Monterrubio is a certified English teacher with a background in psychology and over 35 years of experience training teachers worldwide. She is the co-author of five successful Macmillan Education kindergarten series and continues to design and deliver courses both online and in person. Myriam is deeply dedicated to helping teachers understand how children learn. She guides educators in identifying children’s learning preferences and transforming that knowledge into practical strategies.

Miranda Flynn Legge is an EFL teacher, actor, and course designer with over 25 years’ experience teaching English through drama to young learners. A Guildhall School of Music and Drama graduate and CELTA certified, she founded the Kids English Theatre© Method and trains educators worldwide in storytelling, puppetry, and theatre based techniques to build speaking confidence in the EFL classroom.

Allison Posey is a Senior Instructional Designer and international leader on Universal Design for Learning. She is passionate about using neuroscience to align instructional practices to support every learner. She teaches at Lasell University, is author of Unlearning (2020) and Engage the Brain (2018), and holds a degree in Mind, Brain, and Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education. 

Liz Byron Loya is a dynamic presenter, author, and the K1-8th Grade Visual Art, Special Education, and ESL Teacher at a Boston Public School. In addition, Liz has taught math, general education and served as an inclusion teacher. She has presented internationally and taught graduate-level courses on UDL. Liz shares some of her experiences in her book, Art for All: Planning for Variability in the Visual Art Classroom.

Pilar Capaul is a teacher and ELT content creator who works with Cambridge and British Council. She’s a Digital Ambassador with IHWO, piloting new AI platforms for teachers, and is also the creator of @TeachersofEnglish_ on Instagram, an account where she shares her daily teaching experience and useful ideas.

Sarah Hillyard is a teacher trainer, NILE Online tutor, materials writer, and author of Students’ and Teachers’ Books across pre-primary and primary CLIL, STEAM, and general ELT. She writes articles and blog posts, and enjoys delivering webinars and talks at conferences and schools for teachers working with (very) young learners.
