Skilling Up: Scaffolding and Storytelling
In this video the authors of Story Central discuss the role of stories in the young learner classroom. Viv and Mo begin by defining the power of stories and their importance in language learning. The second part of the video examines a framework for teaching a storytelling lesson. In particular the authors describe the importance of scaffolding and the type of activities teachers can use to build the confidence and skills of young readers.
