Session 1: Fostering Engagement and Motivation Online

In this session, we will look at how we can adapt and extend our classroom and course book materials to take advantage of the online environment in order to foster engagement, motivation and meaningful communication in online lessons.

About the Speakers

Jon is based in Oxford, UK, where he divides his time between teaching English at the University of Oxford, teacher training and writing ELT materials. Jon has a particular interest in Grammar and EAP and has written and contributed to a number of grammar, resource and course books, recently co-authoring one level of the brand new course book series ‘Language Hub’.

Will is the Teacher Training and Author Relationship Manager at Macmillan Education. Teaching and academic managing for over 10 years in Indonesia, Ethiopia, Netherlands and the UK, Will has developed as a teacher trainer on a variety of subjects such as Global Skills, exam preparation, global cultures in the classroom and differentiation. He now splits his time between being a full-time Dad and full-time teacher trainer...somehow.
