Mirrors and Windows: Raising intercultural awareness in the primary classroom

The aim of this session was to explore the importance of including cultural elements alongside language learning to foster curiosity, interest and open-mindedness in young children. Bringing the wider world into the primary classroom provides not only a window towards other cultures, but also a mirror for recognizing elements of one’s own culture.
